Poppy Door

Our new house is ok.  We aren't going to lie, we don't love it here, it is quite expensive small and rundown, the garden is a bit of a shambles, but we are trying to look on the bright side of things.  It is close to mums work and she doesn't have any travel costs, and it does have a garden that I can explore and sit in.  It is off the street so there are no cars straight outside.  A cat door was important, and mum is glad I am happy using it.

We know we were lucky living in our last house, and this doesn't have to be forever.  So we try and make it feel like our place with our stuff around, cosy for me and mum.  We also know that we are lucky to be able to just about afford to live without sharing the space with others, and many kitties don't get to go outside like me.

  2. We know it's hard, Poppy. Our human doesn't like living where she is, either, for a variety of reasons you already know. You can make the best of it, but it DOES impact how your human feels, possibly on an unconscious level, so we think it's important to acknowledge that.

And maybe at some point your mum will find a place she (and you) like better. You never know what the Universe could bring!

  3. Poppy, you always look on the bright side even when things aren't the way you want them to be. Something better will come along. Just keep your eyes open :-)

  8. We think the cat door is the most impawtant part!

It's good that you and Mum have each other to make the best of things. Things are always more bearable when you share them with someone you love.

    XOXO

  10. We don't like where we live, at all! We miss our old house so we know how you feel. Our mum always says we must keep our chins up and be happy that we had the chance to live in a house and area we liked at all, even if it were only for as short while. While she tries not to dwell on it, it does get her down sometimes. We kitties are happy we are all together.
You look adorable using your cat door!

  11. I bet your mum has made your home cozy. We don't like our place much either but we love our neighbourhood and friendly neighbours and could not afford anything grander here. Meow, Jessica

  12. We agree, think about the positives.
It has a catdoor, it is in a safe area away from traffic, no travel costs and the best...you two can be together :) And no, living there is not forever :)

  15. I know how it feels to be in a house with which you are somewhat dissatisfied. But you had to find your new home in a hurry, so you didn't have the luxury of time. As you write, Poppy, it needn't be forever. I will be moving again some day, and you can, too - when you have more choice.

  17. dearest friends...we know how you feel...even our cozy cottage which belongs to us, has 40 year old carpets that are the pits. With us barfy cats, there is no way the rents will get new ones. So we all make do with our blessings as they come along... there is nothing quite like having a roof over your heads we always say good or bad weather we are thankful for it...no matter how humble, there is no place like home...
we love you...the cozy cottage girls
