Day Off

After a sunny weekend, mums day off was rainy.  Still she got herself a sleep in and then got herself up and ready as it was an important day.  She got ger first covid vaccine.  It was nice and quick and she caught up with some colleagues before and after.  Her arm is a little sore tonight so she has taken an ibuprofen.  She'll have an early night as she is tired after a few shifts, her body clock is a bit out of whack.

  1. Nice to hear your mom got her shot with no real problems. Same here and we are grateful. There's been lots of rain and flooding in this country for the last couple of days. Hopefully it's all blown out for awhile. You look good laying there on your sack Poppy.

  4. Hurrah for the first COVID shot! Which vaccine was it? I'm a bit worried about the AstraZeneca one, given all the bad press and the total screw-up at the company's end regarding communications since the get-go. Hopefully you won't have a long wait for the second shot. Here in Ontario (and in some other provinces as well) they're now waiting 4 months between shots, which is too long, IMO. I understand the desire to get as many vaccinated as quickly as possible, but there now are reports that in older people (seniors) immunity falls off pretty quickly after the first shot, and that we shouldn't be waiting 4 months. Anyway, as I'm under 60, I still will have a bit of wait yet for even just the first of whatever one is offered.

Take care, both of you, and have a fabulous week!

    1. Take 'NO' notice of the press say..listen to
      the doctors and scientists...
"AstraZeneca said it now looked forward to getting US regulatory approval.
The company said the trial results confirm the vaccine "is highly effective
in adults" and it remains 100% effective at preventing severe cases of the
      disease".

  5. I am glad your mum has had her first shot. We had ours last month and the second is due in early May. We both had the AZ and neither of us had any side effects. I really dislike needles, a fear not a true phobia, but I never even felt it go in.

  7. Dear Poppy and Mum.
I hope you are both doing well. A friend and I are wondering: Is beautiful Poppy a Blue Burmese or a British Short Hair or neither?

    1. I’m guessing she’s a British Blue . My granddaughter in Europe has a British blue with fold ears. Very cute and looks just like PoppyQ except for the ears.

  8. That IS an important day. I'll stop in later and see if there are any more effects from the set. I hope not.
