Bung Eyes are Back

Le sigh - it made mum sad to see that my sore eyes were back on Saturday morning.  I had been soooo good for a week.  So mum has made a vet booking for tomorrow.  Today I have been resting, and staying close to mum, sitting near her inside and out in the garden.
So our day was a quiet sleepy Sunday.  Mum was exhausted after a busy night last night, so she just pottered around and did some gardening, and a bit of tidying up.
Tonight we had a new visitor over the house - Clouds!!  We haven't seen any for over a week, and know that the garden will be grateful for a soaking tomorrow when the rain is due.  Lots of New Zealand has fire bans and it looks like we are in the middle of a big draught, so we know the farmers will be happy.

Have a lovely Sunday and we will let you know what the vet says.

  1. Poor Poppy Q. Does the vet know what caused thee sore eyes? It is dragging on a bit isn't it.

  2. I saw the title to your post and immediately groaned - I wish whatever is bothering your eyes would go away and stay away, Poppy!

  3. Oh dear, oh dear. You poor little girl. With the drought could it be that your eyes are too dry, too. My ShaNa's tear ducts didn't work properly (one not at all) and for every day of her life I had to put drops and ointments in them.

Hooray for rain. Drought is singularly the most scary thing as water is the one thing we need to sustain life here on Earth. Hope you get a nice soaking.

big hugs to the bung eyed gal, and Mum, too!

  4. Aww, Poppy, we're sorry about this. Uh...Would your mum consider a second opinion? It just seems that whatever your vet is doing isn't working--no offense intended!

    Paws crossed for you!

  8. I'm wondering about allergies. Could Poppy be allergic to something in the carpet? Good thoughts for Poppy tomorrow. Hugs, Deb

  9. I have an eye that gives me troubles, too. We finally started using sea salt and hot water on them. Helps way more than the goopy ointment from the Vet's. Feel better soon, sweet Poppy. XOXO

  15. My Poppy has to go back to the vet too - her chin is looking nasty scabby again. My vet suspects allergies and says it has been a very bad year for them. Good luck to your little Pops. XO

  18. Oh Poppy! How terrible! Have they done a culture of your eye gunk to be sure they are using the right antibiotic? Have they ruled our herpes virus( species specific-not contagious to humans)? This us so awful for you. You are in our prayers dear. Love you lots!
P.S. One of our bridge-kitty brothers, Tucker, had ocular herpes and Lysine powder we got from the vet helped a lot.
