The Vet Says

Dr Eve rang mum this afternoon, the blood results are clear.  She still is worried cos mum mentioned about the sneezes, so mum has to try and catch the sneezes on video to show them,   Then she says we might have to try some antiviral medication, then maybe xrays of my chest and head.  Then maybe a scope and anaesthetic to look around later.

Mum however is playing it cool.  She has watched me tonight, no sneezes since she has been home in an hour and a half and she knows that I am happy and ok at the moment.  Mum thinks that now is not the time for invasive looking around, that if I get sick again, it might be the time then to get worried.

Anyways - hello to March and hello to the weekend.  We hope you are all doing something fun for Friday night!!  Mum is making handmade burgers again tonight and she has some yummy icecream to eat after the chores are done.

  2. It sounds to me like the vet has NO idea what is going on with you, Poppy! I hope whatever you have clears up without too much more veterinary intervention!

  3. Poppy, maybe you have some allergies to some type of plant. We hope your eyes stay infection free this time. All that poking around by the vet sounds pretty extreme for some sneezes.

  4. Oh, dear. No answer is just awful. I know how frustrating and expensive it can be. I will try to be cool and unworried, too. And Miss Pops, you try to stop sneezing and having hurty eyes. Deal?

Hello, March! Have a perfectly lovely day, ladies!

  5. We were going to suggest an allergy too. And ditto Sparkle, that the vet has no idea what's going on. If there's a possibility of a second opinion elsewhere, we respectfully suggest it.

We're glad your blood test results are clear, that, at least is good news!

  6. Yes, I, too, was going to suggest allergies. Since you are going into fall, I know around here in the DC area my cats get the itchies and sneezies sometimes in the fall.

    Have a relaxing weekend!

  9. Hi poppy. I just HAPPENED by and caught your headline and had to stop. That happened to me last spring. It turns out AFTER all the tests, it was allergies and once we eliminated the culprit and got a hippa filter on our furnace, my sneezing cleared up. I hope it's something easy like that for you too sweetie.

  18. The fact that your eye disorder clears up when you are on the antibiotics but quickly comes back when you stop them is baffling. Is it the wrong antibiotic, one that is not fully effective against that particular organism?
If it is an allergy, would the antibiotics stop the symptoms like they do when you are on them? Could you be reinfecting yourself with something? Maybe they can send off a swab of your eye gunk to be cultured. You've suffered long enough and enough $/£ have been spent to no avail. Eye specialist in order. We're praying for you, dear.
