Spring Day Monday

Today was a glorious spring day.  Once the morning cool has worn off, the sun beats down strong and is slowly warming us up and we have longed to be warm for so long now.  Mum got to work early and of course had to work later than her leaving time, but she left in time to take a little stroll in the sunbeams.  We are forecast rain for the rest of the week, so it is good to enjoy it while it lasts.

She found two small steaks at an affordable price and cooked them up with some parsnip and carrot mash.  A simple and quick spring dinner with leftovers made for tomorrow night which is good.   A nice crunchy pear for dessert, which helps with mums fruit and veg quota.  I wish I could say I had some steak, but I don't like the people food and stick to my crunchies and fancy old feast.

Hope your week has started well too.

  1. Hi~Ya Poppy!x
My week started by taking the car up for a MOT...I expect you have them over there! It's a yearly test to make sure the car is in a road worthy state to drive...Well! There's a wheel in each corner, that's about my lot..! :).

And, it's nearly mid~day over here and the sun's out, though it's bit windy...Never mind, as long as it's dry..Hate the rain..Well! You get wet don't you...HeHe!x

  2. Poppy, dear, you and your mum are smart to balance your menus!

Steak is good protein for working humans -- but not all kitties can digest it properly. My big tom, Simon B. McBogle, was a wild baby and he does like to gnaw on a bone!

  4. Some of my cats dislike human food and some love it - to the point of being annoying about it. But I don't mind so much. Renn, who rarely eats anything but hard-food, enjoyed some newly cooked pork loin last night, which I was glad to see him eat. It all depends what's on the menu.

  7. Enjoy your sun Poppy. It has turned colder here already, only 55F today and it should be at least 65F for the time of year.

  14. Steak!!!! If your mum had cooked steak at our house most likely it would have never made it to the table. We're mad for steak and would have been devious and very naughty kitties in our attempt to snatch the steak from her plate. Have you ever given steak a try, Poppy?
