Mum decided to make a quick dinner tonight. She put a couple of huge chicken quarters in an oven bag with olive oil, lemon juice, paprika and salt and pepper. There was also some roasted sweet potatoes and pumpkin and the last of our green beans. Honestly it took only 10 minutes to prepare and about 40 minutes of cooking time. Tasty and tons of left overs for tomorrow nights dinner.
Mum stayed home today and did some relaxing. She mowed the lawns and pulled some weeds. I started begging for my dinner at 4pm. She finally gave in at 5pm.
So it's 7pm and we have both eaten our dinner. Time to relax.

HeHe! Oh! No! Poppy!x Not more food...! :).
ReplyDeleteIt's a good job l've just had breakfast!
So, l'm not to bad..I'm buying a chicken
to~day at the supermarket, given a voucher
last week, one pound (£1) off a medium sized
chicken. But! To~day, l'm not having roast...
I'm having...Meatballs in tomato sauce! Bought
some nice mince yesterday, so, there all made,
making the sauce a bit later..I will enjoy them,
about midday, watching a bit of footy! :). Ah!
Lucky you Poppy having such a clever mum. That plate is gorgeous. I have never cooked in a bag. I wonder if it is roasted or boiled.mHow does it get browned so well. We had boring old boiled chook with peas and tomatoes . Envy the sweet potatoes, Sweet dreams poppy and mum Xxx
ReplyDeleteMum's dinner sure looks tasty, Poppy. And it sounds pretty simple to make, too!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that relaxation, Mum and Poppy.
Poppy, dear, your mum's meal looks delicious! I've never used an oven bag for chicken, only fish. The idea of using one for root veg is something I'm tempted to try.
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks good, Poppy. I should know better than to look at your mum's dinners when I'm hungry, which is always.
