Today has been the coldest day of our year with a touch of hail tonight. Mum got the best night sleep last night that she has had all week. Thanks for the all the nice caring comments about mums crazy work schedule. She does get tired, and after 25+ years, she wonders how much longer she can continue with all the on call and shift work. So as it is chilly here, she rushed home and dished up my feast. Tea and toast was perfect for her dinner, and now she is keen to curl up in bed pretty soon. Tomorrow is another shift night, so the bonus at least is that she gets to sleep in and have a long sleep. She is hanging out til the weekend, where we get a long 3 day weekend to relax together.

ReplyDeletelast night, we got thunder storm with heavy rain, me did cuddle with mom too
Does your mum have an option to retire early with a decent enough pension that she could take just part-time work, either in the same field or in something else? Working anywhere for 25 years seems long to us, but doing shift work would be especially challenging on body and mind. Purrs.
ReplyDeleteyes chilly up here yesterday but not hail. Both fires going this morning. xx

ReplyDeleteThat's a cute photo of you Poppy. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteStay warm and thank goodness for long sleeps.
ReplyDeleteTea and toast is what I have before going to bed. Sometimes just warm buttered toast, sometimes with a bit of marmalade added. It's especially good on cold nights, don't you think? Have your mum enjoy her lie-in.
