Day Out

 

Mum went out with a bestie for a little waffle brunch beside the sea.  The girls then wandered around the garden center to look at some greenery.   It was hot today so mum was glad to get home and be in the shade to read her book and talk to me!!

The good news is no howls last night so mum got a better night's sleep.

Caturday

 This morning was cold and cloudy, so mum pulled the covers up and read her book and I came and cuddled up beside her.  As the afternoon  arrived the skies cleared enough for mum to hang out the washing and to put her shorts on and sit in the sun with her book.  So a relaxing day for her and for me.

Only one lot of howling from me last night which was an improvement on the weeks average.  Mum is super tired, so it will be another quiet night again tonight.  Poor girl is weary from her lack of sleep all week.

Sunbeam

 

Mum knows I am her special angel cat who loves a sunbeam.  Even if I woke her up 5 times last night.  So tonight she has munched on leftovers of chicken and vegetable noodles and then some ice cream on the couch.  She watched one episode of Bridgerton and the The Dig and is now ready to head to bed and fingers and paws  crossed we will both sleep better tonight.  

Quiet

 Well mum has been quiet, just zipping back and forth to work with the usual visits to the supermarket and library.  I have been disturbing her rest with a little  bit of overnight howling.  Lucky I get to sleep all day and catch up on my rest.

Apartment Living

 

Mum has given me a new apartment to live in.  Air conditioned with great indoor outdoor flow.  Purrfect.

Monarch

 At the garden center mum spent a few minutes watching the caterpillars chewing on the swan plants.  Monarch butterflies are such a pretty sight over the summer.

Mown Meadow

 

After weeks of forgetting us, the mower man came and mowed our Meadow and turned it into compost.  Before I even got out to have a sniff , the neighbor tabby came and rolled all over my spots.

So I went out and spread my smells all over the neighbors scents.  Problem solved.

Cheery

Caturday was dreary and overcast here, so mum thought she would brighten the mood with some of the photos she took yesterday.   Today she stayed home with me and pottered about.  Perfect. 

Fridaying

 

I have been helping mum to watch the news the past couple of nights.  The inauguration fills the news even here in New Zealand.  We hope that America can move on, deal with Covid and we only wish good things for their people.

I had to go to the vets this morning for my joint injection.  Mum let the 2nd year vet student do my injection as it was super quick and she did a good job.  Mum also got the student to listen to my heart murmur.  I have lost a little weight which concerns mum a little.  She likes the vet practice and I have gone there since I was an itty bitty kittie, but the last four visits I have seen four different vets which is a bit frustrating. 

So after a little sulk when I got home, I got some treats and felt better.   Mum did her something fun and went to the garden center.   Go mum!!!

Fun

 Mum has 4 days off now and ready for us girls to chill out and relax.  She might get more steps in and go for a couple of walks, and take more flower photos.   She wants to do more fun things and less chores this weekend, maybe a cafe or a movie?

Fresh

 It's a bit fresh out there tonight.  The wind is blowing, and the neighbors bin has blown down the side of the house three times breaking a wine bottle and sprinkling glass everywhere.   Mum may have said some swear words, loudly after picking up glass twice.  So she is going to sit on the couch and drink some wine and think of a warm summer evening and the lovely flowers she saw at the weekend. 

Little Pillow

 I like to lie with my head on a little pillow of bunched up duvet, and rest my little head.

Sunday

 

Mum felt productive today.  Breakfast while watching the Antiques Roadshow, which she got half way through and realized that she had watched before.  The weather was looking stormy, but she headed out to meet her friends and eat some cake.

By the time she headed home the sun was peaking through, so she got some flower shots on the way home.  She has enough to show you all week!!

Caturday

 

Mum slept in this morning and washed her uniforms then munching on a bagel before telling me she was going out for the afternoon.  She went to the market to buy a Danish pastry for tomorrow's breakfast.  She popped into a few shops and ended up in the hardware store, where she got some sanitizer and a couple of small nightlights for me.  

Mum then went to see a documentary at the cinema about Yotem  Ottolengi and the Cakes of Versailles.   It was ok, and a nice distraction for the afternoon.  She then walked into town and got some fried rice and chicken satay for her dinner.  Now she's tired and thinks she will sleep well tonight.

Fridaying

 Well we're so glad its Friday.   The first whole 5 day working week in weeks.  Mum opened windows and doors when she got home as it was summer hot.  Then she fell asleep reading her book.  Luckily it is safe here and mum doesn't worry about intruders or burglars even though her bag and phone were sitting out in the living room.  She got up and cooked a supermarket bought pizza that cheap at $7 was tasteless and bland.  My feast was tasty.

Bake Off

 Mum has enjoyed the last fortnight.  She's come home and watched the Great British Bake Off 2019 which she has had recorded.   It has made her smile at the tasks they need to perform each week, and she lives all the different personalities and how nice they are to each other.  She used to enjoy  a little baking years ago, but has no wish to do any now.  In fact all the fiddling around puts her off baking muffins, cakes and biscuits.

Growth

 Mum was out in the garden and noticed that the passionfruit vine has had a growth spurt, and has sprouted lots of new young fruit.

Waiting

 Me sitting patiently waiting for my dinner while mum was sitting on the couch.  I had a feast - she had nachos.

Meadow

 Mum glanced out the window today and saw me sitting in the grass/weeds and fired off some shots before I ran away or the light changed.  I enjoyed the summer garden and wondered when our mower man is coming?

Caturday

 Mum had a good day off.   She got washing on the line and a couple of jobs done before she went and met a bestie.  They went to a cafe for some tasty lunch, she had fancy fish and chips.   The girls wandered around the museum and then went to the mall.  Mum got herself some pink pillowcases and a couple of small treats.  She got home in time to have the evening with me.

We chatted, and I asked mum for treats 3 times and she gave me a couple at a time.  I'm so lucky! So its tortilla wraps for mum for dinner tonight and I've gone to bed waiting for mum to test drive the new pillows.

Nest

Every summer if mum is looking for me sometimes she knows to look in the garden, as I have a little nest that I like to hide in and have a little snooze in.
 

Summer Sky

 Yesterday was lovely and warm with, with a summer sky of the prettiest view.   Mum wasn't very busy at work and all of her colleagues were glued to the news.  We are glad to live in a country isolated from all of the craziness with no lockdown at the moment and life going on as normal.

Tik Tok

Mum has been wasting lots of time watching animal, cooking,decorating and art tik tok videos.  Not just for teenagers!!!  Her middle aged lady brain can't figure out how to load them onto the blog.  She did smile at Rover the Cat!!

Out

 

I did go outside today to enjoy the early evening as mum bought the washing in.  I did not want to look at the camera though.

Overcast

 It has been overcast and drizzling for 3 days here and mum is keen to be up early tomorrow and get some jobs done and get out for a walk and some fresh air. 

Me - I've been enjoying the spare room still.  I do pop out and visit mum every now and again. 

Relaxavacation

Mum is having a relaxavacation - that is a holiday of a few days off work.  She stocked up on a pile of magazines and books 📚  and turned the alarm clock off and stayed up late reading, and watching old episodes of The Repair Shop.  The weather has been overcast and drizzling, so mums summer tan will be slow to come this year.   I am happy to be relaxing too - in fact I am a specialist in this area.
