Tuesday Dinner

 Gosh we have had some lovely sunshine this week.  At 6.30pm tonight it is a toasty 21 deg C, usually a mid summer temperature for us.  Mum enjoyed her walk home.  She listens to a podcast or two and enjoys the fresh air.

Tonight's dinner was a marinated beef with roasted potatoes and sweet pickled capsicum and vegetables.  Tasty and filling but oh my - far more dishes than mum usually uses.  The beef was maybe a bit rarer than mum usually makes, but it was tasty.
Now she is chilling out in front of the Great British Bake Off - the best viewing of the week.

Monday Dinner

 Tonight's dinner was a butter chicken.  Quite a different version.  Mum has never made one that uses vinegar, milk, sour cream and rocket leaves. She failed using the Japanese rice and had to make some simple basmati rice of her own.  There are enough leftovers for lunch again tomorrow which is good.   Maybe a 6/10 for this one.

Mum and I had a good night's sleep last night which was good, as mum has a long working week.  She is on call tonight - so back to normal for her.  I missed her today, I like having mum at home with me and she would much rather stay home too.

Sundaying

It was meant to be a sunny day here in the Q city, but when we woke up it was cloudy and grey.  Mum still got herself up early to go to the market and get some steps done.  She has signed up to My Food Bag, which delivers food for dinner for 4 nights, and she is doing it fortnightly and will try it for a little while.

So this was tonight's dinner - Cajun fish tacos which were tasty and not something mum would have made for herself.   It also has enough leftovers for tomorrow's lunch.  It also is making her try some foods that she would not have necessarily tried by herself.

So now there are a pile of dishes for mum to do.  I am snoozing on our bed.  Mum resisted having a nap this afternoon and will try to go to bed early enough to get a good sleep.  That's her plan anyway.

Warm Caturday

Wow what a lovely day we had to day.  Real warmth in the sun and the feeling of the summer to come.  Tonight mum was looking through some of my old photos and came across this one, me rolling round in the garden about 9 years ago when I was a youngster.  It always reminds her of summer too.

Mum met up with some of her friends and they went for a drive around the coast.  They stopped and had a nice lunch at a new vegetarian cafe that was very busy.  Although they weren't convinced by the facon or  the soy sausages, mum doesn't mind the odd meatless meal.  She had a potato/sweet potato hash that was ok, but not her favorite.

They went and had a look at a couple of shops and then wandered into town to go to the local fancy market, to get a couple of goodies.

All that sun gave mum a bit of a headache and she had to come home and draw the curtains and lie down.  Unfortunately the neighbors had invited all their friends over to enjoy the sunny evening, so it was a bit loud for her.  After a couple of hours though she was glad to find her headache had gone, so she got up and had a small supper and talked to me.

Me - well I rolled around and slept in the sun - I like the warm rays on my furs after a long winter.

Friday

Mum enjoyed her Friday of not working.   A sleep in, a lunch with a bestie, a wander round some shops, 10,000 steps done, meatballs for her dinner and snuggles with me.  A lovely day.

Happy Happy

Happy happy bday to my mum for yesterday.   She had a lovely day.  It was a day off with lots of phone calls and texts.  She got to wander the shops and get herself a treat or two.  She then had a hair appointment which took up most of the evening and then got home to snuggle with me.

She got to go out for lunch today and then is going out tomorrow and on Saturday.   She is busy busy, and glad to have some time off work.

Naptime

Mum came home this afternoon and the sun was streaming in our bedroom window.  So she got her book and snuggled up on the bed next to me and us girls snoozed together.

Sunday Skies

Mum has a thing about the beautiful clouds outside our living room windows.  It was a lovely warm day.  Sheets and towels were on the line and I snoozed in the sun.

Mum went for a walk beside the seaside and got some sunshine on  her fair skin and her 10,000 steps.  Now she is ready to make her dinner- mashed potatoes and sausages. 

Caturday

Ahhhh Caturday is upon us, and for us is drawing to a close.  The mumster dept in this morning, which didn't make up for the four hour sleeps that she has gotten this week.  I stayed in my usual spot and caught up on my sleeps.

No time for chores this morning, she got herself ready and took herself out.  She went and met a bestie for a stroll and a shop.  Then off to a local bar where mum enjoyed a spicy salt and pepper squid dish and a drink.  They went to the cinema to see Maudie which they both enjoyed.

A 3.15pm movie session is fine for mum, she is happy to be home by dark.  Now the candles are lit, her face is scrubbed clean and she is almost ready for bed.

Supplies

Mum got me stocked up with feast supplies.  Roll on the weekend.

Shift

Mum is on the evening shift again.  She had had a hankering for a Shepherd/cottage pie.  So after work last night she bought the ingredients.

She got herself up early this morning to make her dinner.  The laundry got done, groceries put away and the rubbish was taken out.

Me - well I slept on the bed, on the chair and outside on the lawn.

Wordless Wednesday

Smooth

I am feeling smooth and tidy today after my spa visit.  I went and sat on mum a couple of times overnight to thank her.  She appreciated that, as she was thinking her four hour sleep was too long (she was on call).

The day outside was sunny and warm today.  So mum took herself out after work for a walk.  She visited the library and visited the supermarket in town.  She made a nice dinner of a chicken curry and rice and vegetables.   She used a new sachet of curry that she had seen her friend eat at work.   Unfortunately it didn't agree with mum - she has a sensitive tummy and she knows pretty soon after dinner if it disagrees with her.

Never mind.  Speaking of new foods, the vet encouraged her to buy some new dental biscuits for me to try.  $37 a bag (our supermarket ones are $11).  Wish us luck!!!

Birthday Spa

Mum did not tell me that I won a spa treatment for my birthday.  What a lucky lucky girl.  I had to go to the spa this afternoon to get a summer Brazilian of my trouser pants region.

I also got weighed and am back to 6.15kg, my previous surgery weight.  Mum always gets growled.  Still she refuses to starve me, and every time she does feel guilty but is she takes away biscuits I take away her sleep.   Now she is having to try to give me some dental biscuits each night.  Good luck with that plan.

Happy Caturday Birthday To Me

Today it is my birthday.   Mum woke up and sing to me - not impressed.  Sheets off the bed and all day to roll around on the mattress - much happier.

Mum went out , as the day was sunny to meet a bestie for lunch.  She had their kedgeree, a rice and smoked fish dish which was tasty and much better than it sounds.

She came back to give me a birthday feast and now us girls are relaxing.  I will show you my birthday present tomorrow.

Oh and today I is 11 years old!!

Bday Eve

It is a big day for me tomorrow- it is my birthday on Caturday.   Mum had a day off today and didn't do too much.  It was cold and drizzly outside.  She finally ventured out in the afternoon and went to the library and got some fried rice for her dinner.

I had a feast and went to bed early to make sure I get enough sleep for my big day tomorrow.

Mum has finally reached day 7 of 7 which she is pleased about.  She will be glad of a couple of days off work, but back to normal on Monday.

Comfort Towel

I had a little upset tummy this morning.  Luckily mum caught me while I was starting to do that movement that starts of the biscuit vomit.  I got outside rather than be si k on the carpet.  So I then wanted a sleep.  Mum let me have her towel to sleep on which always makes me feel better.  It is always good to have a sleep when you are sick.

Grey Day

It's a grey day here in the city with spring rain.  Mum let me climb on her spot once she got out if bed.  So there is no chance of straightening the bedding today.  She's off to work now anyways.

Caturday

Howdy folks.  The mumster finished her shift last night so I had a midnight feast dinner.  She slept in today and then got up , showered and pottered around.  Dinner for tonights shift was prepared, rice , veg and meatballs.  She gets to start and finish a bit earlier tonight, so has plans to head to the supermarket after work.

Shift

Mum is now on another week of afternoon shift.  Sleep ins are good but I miss her in the evening.

Nothing

Mum did nothing today.   She decided to stay away from the city and just relax at home with me.  She washed clothes and avoided all other jobs and just talked to me.  I'm happy.

Pink

Even here in little old New Zealand people have been glued to their phones watching the news channels about Las Vegas in disbelief.   At work mums colleagues were thinking about the victims and how busy the hospital staff would be.  Mum is reluctant to discuss politics here.  She will say that in her 30 years at the hospital she has only ever seen 4 gunshot victims.  Two were duck shooters accidentally shot by other shooters and two were criminals shot by the police.

Mum thought you might like to see our new latest duvet.  The past few days the days have been warm and sunny, with the promise of the warmest six months of the year to come.  I took to it straight away.

Mumster Monday

The best part about mum working on Sunday, was that she got to have a Mumster Monday.  She got to sleep in with me, and potter round in the morning.  After weeks of rain, the skies appeared clear, so mum got piles of washing hanging out in the fresh air.

Then she headed out and saw Victoria and Abdul, which she enjoyed a lot.  She went for a walk around to enjoy the sunshine, and then came home to relax with me.

Chicken Alfredo was made for her dinner and eggs boiled so that lunch can be made for the next couple of days.  She is going to go and chop up a pineapple so there is fruit for smoothies.   Oh so organized mum.

Best of all - I get to help her make the bed.  So I'm happy too.

Work

This was mums view as she left to go to work this afternoon.   I was outside getting my half hour of vitamin D.
