Day Off 2


Mum got to have today off as well.  It rained all morning so she didn't get out of the house until 1pm for a quick dash to the shop pretending to be a post office.  She misses the post offices which all seem to have been shut down in the past year.  Standing in a smelly and busy grocery mart is not the same; and she feels sorry for the post shop workers whose jobs have almost disappeared.  Her nana worked at the local post office when she was a little girl.

As she came home the clouds cleared and mum put the towels out and we both sat outside to enjoy a little sun.

    We have the same problem over here to Poppy!x
    Post offices and banks closing, even shops in the
    high street! Though my town is o.k. all four banks
    are still open, and not in the 160 that are closing.
    If they close my bank, l've been with for 50+ years,
    l'll take ALL my money out and keep it under the bed! :).
    There is 'NO' way l'm doing on line banking..the trouble
    is, you don't seem to be given a choice these days..internet
    is taking over our lives..I~HATE~IT..! :(.

    Everything was better in the old days. But here in Canada, some things never change: the post office is on strike again. With that institution losing its battle against the internet, its workers going on strike is like crew members of a sinking ship fighting over the captain's hat.
